64 miles to Marazion with the Fast Boys

A rousing cheer and enthusiastic clapping greeted Robin as he arrived at HQ after his recent record breaking attempt at the Newport Velodrome. After we settled down the assembled group split in two with one going to Marazion and the other to Roskilly’s.
I joined the Fast Boys for a great ride to the Chapel Rock Cafe overlooking St Michael’s Mount.
With wet roads but no rain the twelve of us- Robin, Ian, Danny, Phils 2 and 4, Amanda, Fred, Dean, Andrew and me….plus Ben appearing from time to time before zipping off somewhere- had an uneventful ride through Porkellis, Nancegollan, straight on at Goldsithney for the stunning decent into Marazion. The sun was shining and we all settled around a large group of tables upstairs.
Robin and Ian regaled us with tales of their time in Newport and soon we’d finished off various combinations of egg, bacon, toast and baps, many of us having a second coffeee.
Back on the bikes, we continued through Marazion turning right after the large car park to join the NCN3 to St Erth, Hayle and up the hill from Godrevy! At times the Fast Boys (Robin, Ian, Phil 2, Phil 4 and Danny) sped on leaving the rest of us struggling to keep up.
Things settled down again as we turned towards Pool and found the well known ogil route through St Uny, Four Lanes and Stithians.
A few of us stopped for liquid refreshments at the Seven Stars, Stithians before returning home by the usual roads.
64.6 miles for me
A thorough enjoyable ride
Phil Samuel….Phil 3
Feel free and cycle!
