From Richard 753 โ€œOut on the bike near Point when the chain jammed then broke at the โ€œquick linkโ€. Rejoined the very filthy chain with new one -i always carry spares! The culprit was on of those flat headed roofing nails- you just donโ€™t know what is waiting for you in the road. R753"

Richard (R753) has just let me know that his computer has died, so he is looking to acquire a second hand laptop. If anyone has one they wish to sell him give him a ring. Must have Microsoft Word loaded but I donโ€™t think he links it to the internet.

Kath asked for contributions for the Annual Magazine in a previous Chairโ€™s report and I have contacted a few individuals for ideas since. We are very pleased with the response so far. We shall start fitting the content on to the pages early next month so I hope that those who said they would contribute are busy scribbling away at this very moment. If anyone else fancies appearing in print, you are not too late. Just let Fred or myself know you have something in mind and send us the finished document, as a Word file preferably but pen and ink is acceptable, as soon as possible

Hi Recently moved down here. Iโ€™ve sold my vehicle and relying on my bicycle for getting around Falmouth. Iโ€™m totally shocked at the โ€˜anti-cyclingโ€™ attitudes that prevail around here. From motorists to pedestrians, the prehistoric authorities that close roads and insist on cyclists dismounting. And it feels far more dangerous than my previous home town of Edinburgh, far more advanced in their facilitating of cycling. Iโ€™ve just moved back 20yrs! Is there a local organisation which campaigns for cycling and facilities for safe cycling in Fal? Thanks Duncan

Hi, Duncan, sorry for late response. There is the Falmouth & Penryn Cycling Campaign, on facebook, which I recently started to do just that. I am intending to build a website later this year for those who donโ€™t use facebook. They used to say that moving to Cornwall was like moving back 50 years, so things may have improved - it depends upon which way you look at it. Dean

The Fal Cycling Campaign facebook group hasnโ€™t been active for more than a year. I have failed to contact the owner so have started a new group, the Falmouth & Penryn Cycling Campaign. I know CC are working on improvements to cycling provision between Falmouth and Penryn so thought we need to be in on the debate. If you use facebook, do join.

Hoping to ride out to Raymond's last ride with the group on Friday and wondered if it was possible to buy/borrow a small/medium Wheelers top. TIA, Danny
