What about Mullion, said Victor,

No one objected, now he said ‘how do we get there’?,

After a brief discussion with the group intending to go to Roskillys, we decided to all head to Gweek together and then break away. As we got to Gweek it was decided, to all go to Mullion, Cafe at the Chocolate Shop.  Vic should know the way there, he goes every year just before Christmas to buy me a large box of their chocs, without any dark chocolate as I am not keen on that…the route was pleasant especially through Trelowarren, some hills and little traffic on our way there.  The toasted teacakes were large and well worth waiting for, the coffee good, Richard and I had farmhouse fruit cake I thought it was heavy cake, but was put right by the lass on the till, but it was lovely, very fruity, just what was needed to get me home.. the toilets were a 10 out of 10…

The route back was on the main road up to Helston Culdrose, which was very busy and a case of head down and keep going, we regrouped at Sainsburys’ roundabout and joined the now renamed dusty lane, previously known as muddy lane, but due to lack of wet stuff!! All the gardeners on the ride were hoping for rain this week as many water butts are running very low, but rain preferred overnight if possible..

Richard was the first to leave us to head to Porkellis then home to Ponsanooth, then Port Navas Dave headed off,  leaving a group to go back to Falmouth, and 4 to head straight down to Penryn,  a good ride 41 miles.
