December Report on club events

Very sadly, our Christmas Party and Awards night was cancelled due to the Covid/Omicron situation.  Apologies and thanks to everyone who had made or bought food for the event; hopefully it won’t all go to waste.  The awards will be presented when we’re next able to get together.  On a happier note, after a very successful Audax back in September, our charity fund was able to give donations to two local charities.   ‘Hidden Help’, nominated by Ian, organises and obtains the basic items, to give to people who have nothing, so they can set up home.  The ‘Sowenna Appeal’ was nominated by Phil Conroy.  This unit at Bodmin Hospital is for patients aged 13 to 18 with serious mental health problems, which enables them to stay in the county while they’re being treated, needs funds to buy equipment to help with the young people’s recovery.  The cheques were presented last Sunday morning at HQ.

Our Christmas Tree at Princess Pavilion looks lovely and is well worth a visit, along with all the other trees representing local groups.  Congratulations and thanks to Barbara, KK, and their team.

The Roastie Ride was to have been at the Stag Hunt in Ponsanooth on Sunday – this has been cancelled, so there’ll be a normal ride in smaller groups.  The Mousehole Lights ride will go ahead, and also the Boxing Day ride – meet at HQ at 10am.

The FW subs will be going up from January 1st, to £15 – still a bargain for a whole year of good company and great rides!  The details needed to pay by bank transfer, Phil’s preferred method of payment, will be on the website before New Year.  Our next meeting, all being well, will be on Thursday January 17th, 2022.
