A good turn out of Wheelers rode one of the three Audax Kernow organised events that started and finished at Perranwell Village Hall.
With the options of 200, 100 and 50Km routes, the rides offered something for everyone. Control Points included an in person check at Gwithian Church Hall, where riders were greeted by Margaret, Barbara and KK, who were serving hot and cold drinks and a fantastic selection of cakes and savouries.
On a cold and at times wet morning the hot drinks and biscuits served by Martyn, Steve H and Liz at Peranwell were also very welcome before and after the event.
A stiff Westerly wind taxed the riders as they made their way to the Lizard, Penzance and Gwithian, but all enjoyed the tail winds along the north coast as they progressed toward Portreath, Padstow before
returning to Perranwell.
The Wheelers were represented on all three rides, with Julian completing the 200, Sarah and Jan riding the 100 and Steve H, Trevor C, Don, Paula, Denise and Danny riding the 50. Paul started the 50Km ride, but unfortunately suffered mechanical issues and was unable to complete.
A big thanks to the Audax Kernow Team (club members!) of Martyn and Margaret who organised and ran another very successful set of Audaxes.
Danny
