Falmouth Wheelers
Don’t forget it’s the Club BBQ this Friday 18th July on Swanpool beach 🏖️ from 17:30 onwards. Please bring the usual – chairs, cutlery, plates and food: salads and meats to put on the BBQ 🍖 and drinks of course! We will provide some crisps etc. There is the beach cafe selling pizzas from 5-7pm also if you don’t want to bbq – approx £10 and very good 👍 Look forward to seeing you all there Paula x
13 riders attended Jan’s Pathfinder yesterday. Sadly Jan was unable to ride having dislocated her shoulder saving a small child from being eaten by a grizzly bear (not true, but a lot better the actual reason!). Ian/Dale/Robin/Phil 4/Trevor set off from HQ at 8am unexpectedly collecting Martyn and Margaret on the way near Carnmenellis as they were fixing the chain on their tandem. Seven Wheelers responded to Robin’s suggestion of Roskilly’s for a destination on Sunday. Described as “a route on new or less ridden roads, 20 miles with 1,500 feet of climbing at about 11-12 mph”, I looked for the hidden agenda otherwise known as “hills” between the lines. Vanessa (left) passed away at home with her family around her. She was a much loved member of Falmouth Wheelers Cycle Club who did a number of Charity rides for Cornwall Hospice & Women’s National Cancer charities with her fellow Falmouth Wheelers Denise, Sonia & Jane. Funeral arrangements:- Service on Friday the 11th of July at Mullion Methodist Church 11-30am
The final leg of their charity ride is from Bodmin to Falmouth. Three of us, Danny, Dale and Ian, (courtesy of Robin Snelson transport) are escorting them from Bodmin for the whole ride.
