Where has all the water gone

Eleven OGILS met up at TOP and before the usual discussions ensued I suggested trying out the new Café at Stithians called Lakeside. Now as you all know Sithians is not far so a route was devised. We set off for Gweek and Mike C left us as he had to return to base to do some work, its nice to see him out again with his modified bicyclette. We regrouped at Gweek and headed off for Mawgan then Trelawarren and through to Cury cross out to Culdrose roundabout back down to Gweek up Chapel hill to Trevenen where we encountered an unusually large amount of traffic with no apparent reason. Crossed main Falmouth to Helston road and onto Porkellis. Then up and over White Alice and thus to café. Steve and Jan left to go there way and Eight of us entered the unknown always adventures and excitement on the OGIL rides. We were warmly received with Egg and Bacon rolls freshly prepared by the host. The kitchen is not quite ready but still everyone was catered for. Much discussion took place as to the luverly view of mud now on view at the reservoir. It is only 44% full and falling could there be trouble ahead. SWW always seem to come up short and then they get fined which means they have less money to invest, or is it that they pay out too much to shareholders and CEOs, Time to bring it back under government control. Enough politics. There was much debate on the suggestion of registration of bicycles and speed limit restrictions etc etc all agreed it was just governmental smoke screening to take focus off of there lack of progress on reducing greenhouse gasses “ there we go more politics”. Thus replenished and up to date with current affairs we made our various ways back home having done 30miles (more for some) with over 1800 mtrs climbing “ I think” not bad for a short ride.
