The Milky Bar Kids go for a Ride

Sunday 27th Nov. the weather was dry but overcast and a good few turned up at HQ. After the initial mingling and chat about who, what and where we divided up into several groups and sub groups. I joined in with those going to the Milk Bar at Mullion along with Amanda, Phil4, Ian, Golf Club Trevor and Ben.

As some of us had been out that way on the last OGIL ride it was decided to reverse our usual route. This takes some thinking about, going to where we normally come from!

First out to Halvasso and then onto Porkellis, Poldark Mine and into Helston, simple!

Onto the cycle path around Culdrose to get to Poldhu and who should be coming in the opposite direction was red Leader and his merry group, a lot of waving of hands and gestures were made.

The hill out of Poldhu was a bit of a struggle as we’re not used to going up it but we made the Milk Barn right on time as Amanda had thoughtfully phoned ahead to warn them.

Lot of talk about around the table as to what was on TV, from footie to Strictly!

Back on the road and across Goonhilly Downs to Traboe Cross. Here we decided to give Trelowarren a miss and head straight back down to Garras and Gweek.

In Gweek Ian and Phil left us for a visit the Dirty Duck whist the rest made it back to Falmouth.

Great ride and 44miles.
