Ride Report Sunday 16th July

The tour is providing daily surprizes, its like reading a thriller not knowing whats going to happen next. Then there is a young Spanish lad shaking the old guard at Wimbeldon, what next. All this is almost as exciting as a Sunday ride with the Falmouth Wheelers.
Perranporth was the decided upon destination, i counted ten riders through at Union corner on our way to Penryn, apparently there was some confusion behind sorry to anyone who missed the cut.
Suicide alley was negotiated without too much stress and thus onward to Twelveheads where greetings were exchanged with Richard 531 who was enjoying a coffee, at least he was till the rabble arrived. At Blackwater we joined the old A30 and Phil1 took a photo of the Passmore Edwards building, Yes he is doing the challenge dont forget if you havn’t already sign up for it yourself; it is a fascinating journey; see Dean for details.
We then went to Mithian where another photcall was made and thence on to Perranporth. Stepping stones was unusually quiet ( the lull before the sunday lunch gang arrive) so we all fitted in. Our route out was up the Coombe, after Phil had taken another photo. He then decided he could visit St Agnes for another photo. Danny, Sarah and Terresa left us here to take the normal route home, so seven carried on to St Agnes where the heavens decided to empty its water tanks on to us getting us extremely wet so on stopping in the dip at St Agnes the Green Room lured us in for another coffee and a warm up.
A lull occured so Steve and Mike left to go home and five of us continued up into St Agnes. Photo taken we made our way home via Mount Hawke etc, the occasional shower tried to dampen our spirits but they were poor efforts.
At Longdowns we bid farewell to Phil1 and Colin to do the Flikka thing and Richard Mace ( back riding with us after a brief sabbatical) Dean and myself did the Halvasso thing and thus back home.
A few very enjoyable though damp miles.
Fred
Don’t forget BBQ this Friday, Swanpool.
