What’s behind the Green Door?

A cold clear dawn greeted me as i dragged my weary body from its nightly slumbers. I say this because i spent the previous day moving raised vegtable beds in the garden; digging is supposed to be theraputic! So to the ride. As it was near to Phil1’s birthday he offered to buy the coffees so only right he should choose destination and route. The Green Room, St Agnes was his choice so off we went. We were joined today […] Read More

Goldilocks and the Falmouth Wheelers

I could have called the ride “Oh What a beautiful Morning” as it certainly was. Is the winter over? However, there was a multitude of riders assembled at HQ, including 6 leccies, and, a choice of three rides. I didn’t do the hard one. Fred, Kiwi Dave, Phil3 and I chose Mullion for starters, with an uneventful and bog standard route. We did cross paths with Red Leader’s group, or at least with outrider Don, but that was about as […] Read More

OGILs make a splash

OGIL ride report 4th January 2023 It started out as a normal OGIL Wednesday morning. There were ten of us at ToP, including new recruit Simon (henceforth to be known as Simon2, for obvious reasons) aboard his massive (compared with our road bikes) eMTB. Without any debate that I can remember, our illustrious leader announced our destination as the Helston boating lake, and we set off on a circuitous route to make sure we got the minimum mileage in before […] Read More

The Mousehole Lights Cat-astrophy Tale

Wheelers are renowned for their sense of direction…..pull the other one! It’s got bells on! Things started well last night at the Crown in Goldsithney. The landlady warmly offered us the tasty sandwiches sitting on the bar. They needed eating up after the wake for the oldest lady resident of the village who had died aged 102. As eleven of us set off several riders had entered into the festive spirit festooning their machines with tinsel and sparkling lights and […] Read More
