Ride Report, 2 (Flaming) June

Only 12 wheelers turned up at H.Q. as I assume some of the others were taking part in the Bishops Forum Charity ride. Portreath was the chosen destination as the forecast was a bit indifferent. We set off Budock etc then to Gweek up chapel hill , Coverack Bridges Releath heading for Baripper then it started to rain not being content with mist or mizzle it had to rain proper so we continued through Camborne to Tuckingmill where I had […] Read More

I don’t know why she’s leaving … or where she’s gonna go.

At 7.43am it was drizzling and Mystic Meg started to receive the first excuses on the WhatsAp OGIL group. Adrian craftily got in first, that for the next couple of weeks he would be turning bowls, not wheels. With a not very optimistic weather forecast I set out for Union Corner, where Phil1 and Colin awaited. Kath had not been able to top Adrian’s excuse but did not pleasure us with her presence, so at 8.50am, on the dot, we […] Read More

A perfect day for it

For a change it was a perfect day for a ride – no wind, no rain but warm sunshine. Five of us met at Union Corner – Nigel, John (sporting an interesting rear view mirror attached to his spectacles) , Ian and myself and good to see Phil again on a Wednesday. Then off to the Halvasso turn to be greeted by the other Phil, Mike and Dave. As is often the case when the sun shines Poldu was agreed […] Read More

Pathfinder on Sunday May 19th, led by Richard

Nineteen Wheelers on seventeen bikes enjoyed an excellent Pathfinder on Sunday.  About half of us drove up to Roche and parked by the BP garage just off the A30, while the others rode the whole way, or part of it.  The Pathfinder route was a clockwise loop up to Wadebridge and back, a modest 23 miles but with some of the toughest climbs we’ve had to tackle, so it all balanced out, and justified a good lunch!  We hadn’t gone […] Read More

Thanks Richard

Thank you for a brilliant Pathfinder from Roche on Sunday. The hills were challenging, the weather superb, the lunch stop was just the best and the company as usual was Great. Thanks again. Kath

Back to the Cornish Hills

With fine weather ahead we had to decide whether it was a Poldhu, Perranuthnoe or Gwithian day.  It turned out to be a Perranuthnoe day. (Great choice). Dean,Adrian,Colin, myself and Nigel met at Union Corner later to be chased down by Ian who caught us at the other meeting place where Simon, Phil S, Mike and Trevarno Dave were waiting.  We picked Jan up at Crane Garage on her new bike where we experienced a little road rage. Oh, it […] Read More

Sa Colobra and beyond

M I knew it was going to longer than that! Day 1 Julian decided a 40ish mile route was the plan for the day. We headed out to Campanet for a coffee stop (Almond cake) before heading through Moscari to Selva then turned south to Inca and headed to Sineu for lunch. But, it was market day and packed with people watchers so we took a pretty little lane across a railway line and on to Petra for a late […] Read More
