A game of two halves, and a full pint.

The publication of Sunday’s ride report has been delayed by the fact that I have mislaid Mr Garmin and without his help I am not too sure just where we went. Unfortunately, the delay has also meant that I am now unsure just who was there. But since half the members are not really interested where we went, and the other half not a bit interested who was there, I needn’t tax my memory too severely. There was quite a […] Read More

Ride Report Sunday 16th July

The tour is providing daily surprizes, its like reading a thriller not knowing whats going to happen next. Then there is a young Spanish lad shaking the old guard at Wimbeldon, what next. All this is almost as exciting as a Sunday ride with the Falmouth Wheelers. Perranporth was the decided upon destination, i counted ten riders through at Union corner on our way to Penryn, apparently there was some confusion behind sorry to anyone who missed the cut. Suicide […] Read More

Breakfast Ride: 8 July

The idea behind the Big Breakfast Ride is to get a cross section of the club riding together and sitting down for a sociable breakfast. With all the different riding groups having their set routines on Sunday morning we thought we would try running the Big Breakfast Ride on a Saturday morning starting at 8-30 am from HQ. Only three wheelers turned up, myself, Fred and Don with Ian meeting us at Halvasso. Undaunted the four us set off from […] Read More

Four Hundreds Audax

I’ve ridden Martyn’s Many Rivers to Cross a couple of times and each time there has been around half a dozen or more entrants – this year there was just the one, a woman I think. However there were seven of us starting the shorter, Four Hundreds, 200 km route. If we had been tracked and ‘dot watched’ we might have resembled an acrobatic leach stretching and contracting as riders pass and get passed. At around 40 km, and during […] Read More

What do those e-bikes get up to? Another good ride….

There was a low turn-out at HQ today, as many of the Wheelers were taking part in one of the Armed Forces Cycling Challenges – 100k on a square shaped route from Pendennis castle, or a 25m on/off road event.  After discussing the amazing scenes in Falmouth yesterday, six of us set off; Trevor, Sonjia, Barbara, Mike, Dave and myself – four e-bikes and two road bikes.  Charlie joined us at the Argal crossroads, making five e-bikes.  The destination for […] Read More
